Blessed Beyond Belief

Cindy was born in Magnolia, Mississippi on Labor Day weekend in 1967 to parents who were "pipeliners" and traveled extensively during her young life. She would begin and finish school at West Rusk ISD in New London, Texas, graduating in 1985.

At the age of seven, she gave her heart to Jesus, but later in life found herself in the throws of addiction and bound by the turmoil and heartache associated with that lifestyle. With no consistent Christian influence or discipleship in her young life, Cindy had no idea how to "follow" Jesus. No one told her to read her bible, to pray, or to look to Him for answers when life got tough. And, there had been tough times - many forms of abuse along the way, divorced parents, failed relationships - all creating a need for escape from the reality of what was her life.  Drugs, alcohol, and unhealthy relationships became her gods. After a failed marriage and losing custody of her two children, God stepped in and did what only He could do...

In 1991, Cindy walked into a rehabilitation center in Marshall, Texas and made a decision to "turn her will and her life over to God."  It was there that she met Bobby, whom she married the following year.  Together, they regained custody of Cindy's two children and God truly began to restore what the locust had eaten (Joel 2:25).  In 2001, their children were attending AWANA at a small church in Gladewater, Texas and as a result, Bobby gave his heart to Jesus and they both got busy serving Jesus.  It is there that Cindy met Gina Bauman, founder of Blessed Beyond Belief.  Gina encouraged Cindy to share her testimony with other women and to be a part of the BBB ministry team. Cindy taught a lesson at a retreat just one time and was amazed at what God had done in and through her that weekend. She was hooked! From that point, she became actively involved with BBB, serving in many capacities, and later became Retreat Director and Vice-President of the ministry.  After Gina went to be with Jesus in December 2018, Cindy assumed leadership of BBB as President. In addition to her role at BBB, she is also a mentor to women in her community, she teaches bible studies behind bars at TDCJ, and in local addiction recovery/discipleship homes for women, and is active in her local church.  Her "dream job" for God would be to become a missionary to the prisoners at the Belize Central Prison at Hatteville, Belize Central America.

Cindy's passion is to share the opportunity of freedom that Jesus offers with others who have possibly never experienced the love of God, and to let them know that Jesus wants to give them abundant life (John 10:10) and to set them free to walk into the destiny for which they were designed. Isaiah 61 says it this way:

   “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
   Because the Lord has anointed Me
   To preach good tidings to the poor;
   He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
   To proclaim liberty to the captives,
   And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
   To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
   And the day of vengeance of our God;
   To comfort all who mourn,
   To console those who mourn in Zion,
   To give them beauty for ashes,
   The oil of joy for mourning,
   The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
   That they may be called trees of righteousness,
   The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
